Abstract
A 51 year-old man was admitted to our hospital complaining of fever and chest pain. Laboratory tests showed leukocytosis and an elevated CRP level. After a complete clinical examination, the patient was diagnosed to have esophagogastric phlegmon and treated with medication. The patient was discharged from the hospital on the 30th hospital day. Esophagogastric phlegmon is a rare inflammatory disease that is very difficult to diagnose definitively. Since this disease is often fatal, early diagnosis and treatment are essential. We report a patient with esophagogastric phlegmon who was successfully treated by medication.
