A case of severe radiation pneumonitis after breast conserving therapy for breast cancer (stage I)

Abstract

A case of grade 3 (RTOG/EORTC) radiation pneumonitis in breast cancer (stage I) treated with conservative surgery and radiotherapy was reported. In most Japanese institutes, breast conserving therapy is indicated for stage I, and severe radiation pneumonitis has not been reported so far. In this article, we discussed the peculiarity X-ray image and clinical course in this sequela.
