Abstract
The authors used Doppler in 96 anterior aneurysms of 90 patients over a period of one year for both ruptured and unruptured cases. The Doppler used is DVM-4300, Hadeco, 1.5 mm in diameter and 20 MHz in frequency and used both before and after clipping. In our series, there are 2 intraoperative rupture cases. In 9 aneurysms, the clip was adjusted as Doppler revealed incomplete clipping. In another 7 aneurysms, the adjustment was due to reduction in blood flow in nearby or parent artery. Through our experience we conclude that Doppler is useful both before and after clipping.
