Abstract

Between 1973 and 1991,80 patients (16 males and 64 females) with thyroid carcinoma were treated in our clinic. Ages ranged from 19 to 84 years, with an average of 51.9. Histopathological findings included 69 papillary carcinomas, 6 follicular carcin o mas, 3anaplastic carcinomas and 2 squamous cell carcinomas. By T category, 5 cases were TO, 19 cases T1,25 cases T2,4 cases T3,27 cases T4. By N category, 64 cases were NO, 14 cases Ni, and 2 cases N3. Prognostic factors for thyroid carcinoma were age, T classification, and histopathogical type.
