Abstract
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Therefore, the effective and intense screening and surveillance for CRC using fecal immunochemical test (FIT) followed by colonoscopy has been crucial. However, in cases in which a previous colonoscopy was incomplete or for patients who are unable or unwilling to undergo colonoscopy, colon capsule endoscopy (CCE) also has been shown to be an alternative as well as CT colonography, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and FIT-fecal DNA. This chapter summarizes the preparation for CCE, detectability of CCE for colorectal polyp and cancer, cautions of image reading, and indications and reimbursement of CCE among countries.
