Abstract

We reported five cases with contact dermatitis from topically applied Bendazac (Zildasac ointment). Clinical findings were erythema and swelling of the skin at the site of topical application. The patients were patch tested with Zildasac ointment and Zildasac cream. All of the five patients showed positive reactions to Zildasac ointment and three of them to Zildasac cream. Four of the patients were patch tested with the ingredients of Zildasac ointment. Oxyethylenlanolinalcoholether which was one of the ingredients was positively reacted by the whole tested patients. 3% Bendazac (the active component ofZil dasac ointment) in white petrolatum showed no definite positive reactions.
