Abstract
A compensation method was developed for estimating contamination in TI-201 data due to lead X-ray in simultaneous TI-201 single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and Tc-99m transmission computed tomography (TCT) using a flood source. The method was evaluated with a chest phantom and a normal volunteer. Using this method, the significant underestimation in TI-201 SPECT data due to the lead X-ray could be improved. The simultaneous TI-201 SPECT images compensated using this method were almost the same as the TI-201 images. The feasibility of the method was also demonstrated and evaluated using phantom and clinical study.
