Abstract

In this study, we developed novel microchannel defined by transparent cellophane film (roof), water-resistant paper (bottom), and double-sided tape (sides). The cellophane film enabled us to perform photolithography and microscope observation. By utilizing these features of the cellophane film, we fabricated immunoreaction media called immuno-wall in each microchannel by photolithography. Furthermore, we captured fluorescence images of the immuno-wall through the cellophane film after performing the fluorescence immunoassay. We demonstrated that the sensitivity of immuno-wall devices between cellophane film and water-resistant paper was comparable to that of commercial ELISA kit. Cellophane film is promising material in the next generation microchannel devices.
