Abstract

Conventional competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) measuring the cortisol level in body fluid consumes considerable time over 1 hour, resulting from sophisticated procedures and precise control of reagent addition. The decrease in the detection time is the significant for the point of care testing and health monitoring. In order to eliminate the time limitations, we developed an automatic one-click microfluidic system on the basis of competitive ELISA and electrospun polystyrene microfiber-based substrates.
