Patch Test Results of 7 Cases with Melanosis Faciei Feminae

Abstract

7 patients with melanosis faciei feminae (= pigmented contact dermatitis) who had asked our clinic from December 1st 1980 to November 30th 1981 were patch tested about their cosmetics, detergents, clothes, household appliances and 87 allergens. Patch test results were as follows, (1) 6 patients had showed positive reactions to their cosmetics. (2) 4 patients had showed positive reactions to cosmetic ingredients tar dys and two of them had reacted to PAN (1%/p). (3) 4 patients had showed positive reactions to perfumes and two of them had reacted to Benzyl peroxide (5%/p). (4) 3 patients had showed positive reaction to preservatives, but no case had showed positive reaction to Irgasan CF3.
