Safety and Clinical Evaluation of a Lucent Soap Containing Camellia Oil

Abstract

We performed safety and clinical evaluation of a lucent soap containig camellia oil (Atopico soap). Safety evaluation was carried out with patch test method in 30 patients with various skin diseases such as contact dermatitis, pigmented contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, etc, Skin irritant index of Atopico soap was 11. 6 indicating the skin safety. Usage test of Atopico soap showed good results in 10 patient out of 22 dry skin patient. Side effect (irritation) was shown in only one patient. From the above results, we concluded Atopico soap was safe and useful.
