Abstract
Tokuderm® is a corticosteroid tape containing 6γ of betamethasone 17-valerate. To evaluate the skin safety of Tokuderm®, we performed 48 hours closed patch test on 30 patients with skin diseases who experienced contact dermatitis with topical medicaments. The test materials were patched with Finn chamber and scanpor tape for 48 hours on the patient's upper back, and readings were done one and 24 hours after removing based on Japan Patch Test Research Group recommendati n. And the skin irritant indices were calculated. The skin irritant index of Tokuderm® was 8. 3, so we decided that Tokuderm® was safe when it was applied reasonably.
