Abstract
We studied about the skin safety and clinical evaluation of 0.1% Hydrocortisone 17-butyrate 21 -propionate (HBP). 40 patients with skin diseases were patch tested with HBP ointment, cream, ointment base and cream base. And skin irritation indices were calicurated as 2. 5, 1. 25, 1. 75 and 1. 84 respectively. 2 patients were reacted to methyl paraben formulated in the crem base as a preservative. 41 patients with skin diseases were treated with HBP ointment. The patients applied HBP ointment simply to their lesions three times a day. 14 cases out of the 41 patients (34. 2%) were completely cured and 19 cases (46. were well improved within three weeks. Side effect was shown in one case.
