Skin surface Temperature on the Face with Rosacea Hke Dermatitis

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

We studied the face skin surface temperature of the patients with rosacea like dermatitis using thermography to know the physical conditions on the face skin. The face skin surface temperatures of 6 cases with rosacea like dermatitis were all higher than those of 7 normal controls. After cooling both hands in 15C cold water for 3 minutes, the skin surface temperatures on the nose and lip showed lower than those on the cheeks and forehead in both of rosacea like dermatitis and the normal control. As cooling directly with 5C cold water for one minute, the face skin surface temperatures recovery times to 1C of casual levels of the cases with rosacea like dermatitis were shorter than those of normal controls. The recovery times of the patients with rosacea like dermatitis were prolonged according to the improvement of clinical symptoms. So we assumed to take the face skin surface thermograms was useful to know the physical conditions and the efficacy of the treatment of rosacea like dermatitis.
