Abstract

Fourteen patients with locally recurrent lung tumor after external irradiation were treated with 3D-CRT. The biological effective dose (BED 10 : α/β = 10) of reirradiation in the range from 48Gy to 105.6Gy were irradiated. Higher BED10 (≧ 55Gy) is associated with improved local control. The locoregional progression-free rate at 1 year was 56.3%. No case of Grade 3 or greater toxicity had been recorded. In conclusion, reirradiation with 3D-CRT can be considered an option for locally recurrent lung tumor previously treated with radiotherapy.
