Abstract

Purpose: To evaluate foldable single-piece acrylic intraocular lens (IOL) for transscleral sulcus fixation. Cases and Method: This retrospective study was made on 15 aphakic eyes of 15 cases that received implantation of foldable single-piece acrylic IOL (VA-65, HOYA) through a 3.5 mm corneal incision during the past 9 months. Results: Visual acuity remained unchanged or improved in all the cases. The IOL was fixated in the center of the pupil area immediately after implantation. There was no complication throughout during the follow-up averaging 8.4 weeks. Conclusion: Implantation and sulcus fixation of single-piece acrylic IOL (VA-65) through small corneal incision appears to be safe and useful.
