N2 - A statistical study was made of 169 cases of foreign bodies in the esophagus treated in our clinic between June, 1973 and December, 1992. The results were as follows: 1) As esophageal foreig n bodies, coins were found in 56 cases, who were all infants or children, while dentures and press through packs (PTP) were found in adults. The incidence of PTP foreign bodies appears to be increasing. 2) Appropriate planning must be established to prevent dentures and PTP being swallowed.
