From the aesthetic viewpoint, an eyebrow defect from any cause affects the appearance greatly, in addition to causing the subject great mental stress, and though various approaches to an eyebrow reconstruction have appeared in the literature, the reconstructed eyebrow often differs from the natural eyebrow, particularly with respect to the properties of the hair, such as the hair flow, and its density, length, and width. Over the past 9 years the authors have been repairing defects of the eyebrow by skin grafting, using the skin of the scalp as the donor site. During this time, they handled a case whose hair from the middle of the scalp that differed from the usual scalp donor site hair and better resembled the properties of eyebrow hair. Since that discover, they have devised a 'tunnel graft' method for split thickness scalp skin grafting for eyebrows repairs and herein describe this reconstructive method.
