N2 - Balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) has been reported to be effective and safe to an acceptable level in patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) who are not candidates for pulmonary endarterectomy. However, we need to further improve the outcome, efficiency, and safety of BPA. In this context, it is important to sufficiently use noninvasive imaging such as computed tomography and cardiovascular magnetic resonance to guide BPA in the selection of appropriate targeted vessels or lesions, selection of guide wire or guiding catheter, and evaluation of the efficacy of BPA. In this chapter, we would like to introduce current practice on how to use noninvasive imaging before and during a BPA procedure, as performed in our CTEPH team, by referring to previously published methods and technique.
