Previously we reported antitumor effect of TNP-470 on intracranial tumor, which is 9-L gliosarcoma, transplanted in rats. This time we examined antitumor effect of the combination with TNP-470 and CDDP, compared with the administration of the single agent. TNP-470 made the ischemic changes in tumor tissue, and CDDP brought about coagulation necrosis. The combination chemotherapy elongated the survival periods of the transplanted rats without severe side effects. Therefore this treatment was considered to be effective for the treatment of glial tumors. But we should look into the administration dose and methods of antitumor agents.
