Clinical Evaluation of Metharmon-F for Acne with Irregular Menstruation

We conducted clinical evaluation of Metharmon-F for 11 patients with acne vulgaris who claimed irregular menstruation and worsening of acne in the premenstrual period. The initiating factors of ance vulgaris are the increase in sebaceous secretion and an abnormal hyperkeratosis of follicular epitherium. It has been confirmed that the sebaceous gland is stimulated by androgen. And it is possible that the abnormal process of epithelial differentiation is also influenced by hormonal factors. Metharmon-F contains several prehormons and normalizes hormonal unbalance. We confirmed the clinical effect of Metharmon-F for ance lesions especially for comedoes. 4 cases showed improvement of irregular ma-nstrual cycle and 1 case showed improvement of premenstrual acne. But we could not find out the decrease of sebum production.
