144 cases suffered from contact dermatitis with daily necessaries and household commodities visited our clinic in the past three years. We had more patients in spring and summer than in fall and winter. We thought the high frequency in spring and summer was due to the allergic reaction with decorative accessories. The patient's age group had 2 peaks of under 10 years and between twenties and forties. Most of the male patients were included in a age group of under 10 years. But female patients were distributed in various age groups. The causative materials of contact dermatitis were as follow 5 clothings in 51 cases, household chemicals in 41 cases, decorative accessories in 38 cases, and others in 18 cases. 4 cases were induced by overlapped materials. In male cases clothings was the first cause and in female cases household chemicals was the first. Contact dermatitis with clothings was thought to be induced by primary irritant reaction and decorative accessories by allergic reaction. In most cases household chemicals caused hand dermatitis including keratodermia tylodes palmaris progressiva.
