Diagnostic imagings for obstructive jaundice

We reported a diagnostic system for obstructive jaundice. Ultrasonography is the most reliable method for diagnosis of the dilatation of the bile duct. Endoscopic ultrasonography is recommended as the second examination, because it gives a lot of information for differencial diagnosis between malignant and benign strictures of the bile duct and cancer extension of pancreato biliary carcinoma. Percutaneous transhepatic cholangioscopy and percutaneous biliary ultrasonography are useful as close examinations for diagnosis of extension of the extrahepatic bile duct carcinoma.
