Fluorine-18-Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography (FDG-PET) is a promising functional imaging test for patients with malignant lymphoma (ML) , and has gained wide usage during the last decade. In 2007, an International Harmonization Project (IHP) proposed revised response criteria for evaluating therapy responses in ML and consensus recommendations of FDG-PET for this purpose. The relevance of the response criteria and consensus recommendations should be validated in prospective clinical trials. Clinicians should utilize them cautiously in clinical practice because clinical data on decision making depending on these guidelines are still limited.
