We herein report a case of Pasteurella multocida infection in a 50-year-old woman following a cat scratch. One day following a cat scratch, the patient experienced pain and swelling at the site of injury. Upon the culture of pus from abscess, Pasteurella multocida was identified as a causative agent. Following treatment with minocyline (200mg/day), the patient's symptoms improved. Infection with Pasteurella multocida responds well to antibiotics and typically has a good prognosis. In immunocompromised patients, however, greater care must be taken in monitoring treatment and disease progression.
