Staphylococcus aureus which was multiplily resistant including to cefazolin and methicillin which were isolated from infectious skin lesions between 1977 and 1986 in the Department of Dermatology, Kansai Medical University, were studied on the resistant patern, phage types and coagulase types. The number of S. aureus strains resistant to both cefazolin and methicillin was 17 and they showed also cross resistancy to penicillins, macrolides, aminoglycosides and many other drugs. Phage types of these strains were not classified characterically, but coagulase types were mostly classified into type IV (81.8%).
