To date, classification of malignant lymphoma is mainly made from histopathological findings such as the classification system described by Rappaport. Recent advances in hybridoma techniques have permitted the production of monoclonal antibodies. Seventyeight suspected cases of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in the head and neck region were studied for tumor surface maker phenotype, anti-S-100 antibody titer and histopathologic correlation with clinical features. The histopathological findings and immunological examinations were useful in diagnosing non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The correlation of S-100 and Leu 7 to the prognosis of these patients is discussed in the paper.
