In summary, NRP-1 expression enhances tumor angiogenesis and tumor size whereas sNRP-1 and class 3 Semaphorins appear to have anti-tumor angiongeneis properties. Thus NRP1 and its ligands play a central role in regulating tumor angiogenesis, as either promoters or inhibitors.
