抄録

A 65-year-old man was referred for the precise examination of the distal esophagus. Endoscopy showed abnormality of the lower esophagus. Conventional and chromoendoscopy showed a salmon pink-colored esophagus with partial irregular area. Magnifying endoscopy revealed villous epithelium and irregular minute surface. Barrett's esophagus with dysplasia was diagnosed. Because the histological biopsy showed adenocarcinoma, esophagectomy was performed. Magnifying endoscopy is useful for the detection of malignancy in Barrett's esophagus.
